Do you YouTube?
Did you ever notice how often YouTube videos come up on the top of Google search when you are searching for something specific? There is a reason for that. Google’s algorithms are programmed to search for what they term “blended results” in order to provide their end user with the most diverse, relevant user experience. Video optimization can really level the SEO playing field for companies that have videos on their websites, or even those that are placed on YouTube.
The idea of posting a video may sound daunting, as though you need to bring in a fancy production company and spend a lot of money on actors and audio, but the truth is you can set up a YouTube video using Power Point slides – Google doesn’t “see” the video, they just learn about it through the title you give it and the keywords you establish. Google also doesn’t see that you’ve only gotten a few viewers on YouTube, so that works in your favor as well. Make sure that you’re titling your video very carefully, creating a full description with several words, because that’s the way that Google will match you to a keyword search. Be as specific as possible to make sure that users who reach you are the ones you want to reach. And remember, if a user clicks through to YouTube they are NOT clicking onto your website, so make sure that once you’ve captured your attention with the video they know how to find their way to your site.
